CRICKET STARS ENTERING BOLLYWOOD


Now many of the cricket stars are getting ready to shine in film industry.Indian fast bowler Sreeshanth;who played a vital role in winning 20-20 world cup has decided to act with Malayalam superstar mammootty in an upcoming film.Sreeshanth, the only Malayalee in the team will appear in the maiden venture produced by famous Udhaya studios, in their comeback.The film, not yet titled, which will have Mammootty in the role of a Police officer, is directed by debutante Aashiq Abu.Sreeshanth will be in the role of a cricket player, whose attitude and aggression make greater impacts in the life of an officer. Produced by Kunchako Boban, Alwin Antony and Khadar, the film will start in a short while.Now Hindi film industry have started embracing the celebrities from the cricket world. The cricketers can have an opportunity to have another career and by this Hindi film industry gets publicity by the players of these countries when they go back to their respective countries to advertise about the products with which they are associated. Brand ambassadors like Gary Sobers and Vivian Richards from the past are prime examples.Now firstly the Pakistani fast bowler shoaib akthar has got an offer from Bollywood to act in a movie,but he has not yet decided.Shoaib was offered a film earlier by ace director Mahesh Bhatt. Apparently the title role of the hit movie “Gangster” was offered to Shoaib. Somehow, things didn’t turn out quite well and the movie eventually went to Shiney Ahuja.The female leads are yet to be decided, but there are strong chances of Hansika Motwani or Deepika Padukone being cast. There are some problems regarding the dates as Shoaib will not be able to give more than 15 days at a stretch for shooting. The basic story is said to revolve around a Pakistani cricket player who falls for an Indian girl.Shoaib Malik in his earler interview said that he has got offers from the Hindi film industry to act and when the time comes he would be making the disclosure.Now the market for Hindi films in Pakistan have started rising and with Shoaib Malik and akthar acting in bollywood may try to increase their fans providing a new hope for the industry in the Pakistan.Further England bowlers Sajid Mahmood and Simon Jones are among a group of Test players set to feature in an upcoming Bollywood movie about cricket.)."I don't have a big role in the movie, I play myself and bowl - that can't be too difficult to do!" said Mahmood.Former West Indies captain Brian Lara and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan are likely to team up for special appearances in a $2 million movie Dulha Mil Gaya.'Victory' is the story of a boy who dreams of playing cricket for India and filming has already begun in SydneyThe film will also feature members of the current India side, as well as Australians Brett Lee and Mike Hussey.NewZealanders Craig McMillan, Daryl Tuffey and Nathan Astle are also set to appear in the production, which stars Bollywood newcomer Harman Baweja and actress Amrita Rao.Thus a new mindset as been established in Hindi filim industry of making cricketers to act in the movie.finally its going to be a feast for the Cricket fans and they can expect the stars to shine in the bollywood too...
