AUTOMATIC ENERGY MONITORING SYSTEM

Now in practical the induction energy meter monitors the domestic energy by induction principle.The span of electro-magnetic property makes the proper measurement of electrical energy difficult,so only single phase automatic energy monitoring system is replacing induction energy meter in many places.This system does not use any induction principle and incorporates digital circuits for the accurate measurement.Automatic energy monitoring system tracks the record of the electrical energy being used by the consumer through automatic energy meter.This meter measures the energy utilized by the consumer using 89C51 controller and that in turn will monitor the energy that is being used according to the load driven.The controller drives the UART for monitoring the energy on the pc through MAX232 level converter.Instead of monitoring on pc,the controller will drive the LCD to monitor the energy consuming same as induction energy meter.This will be done in digital form accurately.The advantages of using this system are maintainance free,accurate measurement,more life span,reduces human attention.This system is mainly finds it application in domestic and low power commercial pourpouse.Actually these details i came to know through an IEEE article and for more details you can refer IEEE magazines.
